A knife’s blade lacerates sweaty, adolescent skin

We bleed to know that we are still tangible

Still alive

Still existing

Somewhere

Our voice will be heard

Someday our words will take up more space than we ever will

Our bodies evaporating

Skeleton girls

Made of diet coke and energy drinks

Clad in crop tops two sizes too small

Wondering if we are enough and too much at the same time

Because we have the audacity to survive

Because we have the audacity to want
