Silence is Oblivion: The Voices of the Holocaust
Ghettos pour to melting pots
Lives shackled to regime
Deaths pile ‘til by all forgot
Grave dirt-stained bloodstream
Those with breath find worser fates
Bodies shrivel and decay
Scream evade “Open hell gates!”
The devil’s seized his day
But mounts a flag: red, white, blue
Hope spirals with life’s spring
Men and women, withered but new,
Rise above and sing
“Let our lives remain
Let freedom take its reign”
