I have gunpowder in my chest
Instead of a heart.
It leaves my lips in the shape of a bullet;
I open my ribcage for acceptance,
for it to leave me as nothing but a husk.

This piece came when I tried to share my emotions but felt rejected. It came at a time when I was feeling really vulnerable and wanting to share that with someone.
