I turn my hands

see 10 fingers

the river masks

before wind comes

I turn my shoes

see a blossom

cigarette ash

faded in dawn

I turn a board

make a 4-seat

and turn my smirk

into torture

I turn my back

if I shaky

But when I sob

where could I turn?

The author's comments:

I'm Tran, often known as Marine. I wrote this piece in a gloomy day memorizing about the time when I suffered from manic depression. It was the darkest time in my life ever, fortunately, few years later, I was gradually recovered after knowing and understanding what my parents had to undergo because of my mental illness. The sequel of that time remains immortal to me, but for now, it turns to be a motive for me to keep striving towards success, hapiness and fullfilment.

I hope, if you can have a chance to meet my inner self, to read this little piece of work, you can understand it with a positive viewpoint. Throughout this piece, I integrate some little beautiful things of life (blossom, river, wind) into sadness in order to create a truly beautiful sadness. I want to say that, sadness is not just sadness, it's contemplation, it's a feeling, a rest that all of us have experienced. And remember that, everyone was and is hopeless, but that day would then be over regardless how desperate it was and is.
