The bus stops on Marlin Drive
I pick up my black bookbag
and walk out of the yellow mobile
the snowflakes gracefully go
down
And the snow lands on my eyelash and
down my cheek
And melt as the warmth of my body
Let it
sink further into my skin
The frozen flakes land on top of my head
And stay in place on my hair
The cold flakes warmed my thoughts,
As the breeze of the chilly air
frosted my nose and exhale.
The print of my shoes make a mark on the snow,
And as I take each step,
another footprint is left behind.
The slow and calm crunch of each footstep
Get louder as more snow compacts
into the crevices of my shoes.
The laces are tied, but
they are too long--
So it drags
on the snow,
and absorbs its water
