It was the last day..
It was the last day she kissed his forehead,
The last day he had milk with bread,
It was the last day he hugged his mother,
The last day they looked at one another,
It was the last day his father had patted his back!
The last day before their happy world was about to crack!
It was the last day he had put on the uniform,
He didn’t know this happiness would be forever gone,
It was the last day his mother smiled at him,
Not knowing the grim reaper was about to get him,
It was the last time his parents were sending him away,
Yes! It was certainly the darkest day!

This poem is about the attack that happened in Peshawer a few years back when a group of terrorists martyred young and innocent students. It was this day that hundreds of families broke apart and many souls departed from this world. It is remembered as the darkest day in the history of Pakistan.
