Digital Luv Blues
I saw him brawl in the blockbuster movie
I heard him chuckle in the interview
Head over heels but he never noticed
So I don’t talk about him anymore.
But one day his truth came out
Not a sound and no more photos
Now he’s gone and I can’t believe it
So I don’t talk about it anymore.
If luv were only ones and zeros
What were angels of six and two?
If luv can not be for a wired hero
Where would that leave me & u?
If I had a supersonic steel bird
I’d fire up and high I flew
If I knew what he was up to
I’d see every inch of his tattoos.
Pretty voice and pretty faces
Faces that I’ve only seen
Pretty voice and pretty faces
Tell me what luv really means
He looks like the son of Zeus
Striking hearts and pulling sun
If this isn’t god’s only bijou
What are we mortals left to do?
If luv were only ones and zeros
What were angels of six and two?
If luv should be touch and
Where would that leave me & u?
This poem is about a hypothetical obsession with rock-hard idols that disperse all over social media, contorting the idea of love over teenagers.
