I Wish
I wish fathers were better at being fathers
I wish my mother never had to beg for child support
I wish I never had to worry about my brother and I being fed breakfast
I wish I knew he was a narcissist sooner
I wish my brother didn’t have to be alone with him
I wish people could see past his charming exterior and into his calloused interior
I wish I didn’t have to care as much as I do
I wish that I would stop bleeding love when he cuts me
I wish that I didn’t have to beg for him to love me
I wish that my father would love me unconditionally

This is a very personal piece to me. The recent loss of the relationship with my father has been very emotional and yet inspiring at the same time.
