Everytime a new life is born,

A new star appears on the night sky,

The star shines brighter than ever,

Marking the life that they're in charge of,

Marking the life that'll grow the succeed,

Marking the life that will give everyone joy.

Age One;

A baby girl takes its first steps,

Her mother (엄마) smiles, tears on the edges of her eyes,

Her father (아빠) grins proudly, embracing the baby girl into a hug,

An overjoyed family is starting to shape.

Age Two;

A toddler first plays with building blocks,

She holds up a pink (분홍) one,

Stacks it on top of the purple (보라) one,

Holds up a purple one,

And stacks it on top of the pink one,

Building,

Higher and higher

Age Three;

The parents buys their daughter a tricycle,

She has been begging for a yellow one for ages,

She instantly gets on it,

Says, 'thank you (감사합니다),

And rides to her heart's content.

Age Four;

The child is grasping a red crayon,

She carefully draws a circle (원).

Then she draws a square (사각형).

A star (별),

A triangle (세모)

And a heart (하트) follows along.

Age Five;

The preschooler is reading a picture book to her parents,

The preschooler traces her finger along the pictures (그림).

Age Six;

The parents sees their daughter waving from them from her school,

She learns how to count the stars.

Age 'Childhood';

The young girl ties her shoe laces (신발끈),

She can do it without anyone's help,

And the girl is able to run around with those shoes now.

Age Twelve;

The girl looks out of the airplane window,

Moving.

Far away from her young childhood memories.

A star catches her eye and she longs to get ahold of it.

Age Thirteen;

Here I am,

Writing this poem,

Wondering what else I'll add on to this poem as I get older.

I know that my future will be amazing.

Because I can still see the star.
