Hush
Hush
The whisper,
it slips off their tongue.
A white mist that smells
of cigarettes and
morning dew.
It’s sticky
like a humid
summer’s evening,
but chilled
like an icy breeze
ripped from
the frozen seas.
It is not tethered.
It is not bound.
Rather, it floats,
slowly tumbles,
and twists.
It demonstrates its
delicate power
as it pronounces
its strides of purpose.
A purpose
that is only known
to the lips
that drew it.
