Extending branches outward near the
fall
Shifting the scents of apple pie
through air,
Lightly pushes the figures, still stands tall
Their attachments become
thinner and more
Reaching out for support, looking for will
Will to continue, will to
grow
Still, nothing to find yet resting on ‘til
The insistent wait
Shorter painful days
This fate
Won’t faze
