Work

Endlessly I work

For forever failure lurks

I don’t know when I’ll need it

But the work I do makes me fit.

Whatever may lie in the future

I might have to suture

The relationships in my life.

No matter what the current strife,

I’ll keep working for the sake of my forever,

After all this work I hope I’ll find my treasure.

Perhaps this work makes up for the past

When I was so crass

And left my work alone.

These skills my work will hone,

For I do still need a home.

Home is a place to stay

For it’s you it’ll never betray.

Gliding down the mind

Only serves to ruin the one that was already fine

It is only through the work of the divine

That I can begin to pantomime

Some way to fix these laborious fits of grief

My work is a distraction, yes

But it serves to impress

The way of what is right.

This piece is my final exam for my composition class. I really enjoy writing and oftentimes I just like to create free verse poetry when I am bored or need to unwind.
