Not An Object
A doormat.
A doormat is an object.
A woman.
A woman is the opposite of an object.
Can’t you see the main difference?
Believe it or not, there is a difference between a woman and a doormat.
Why do these two things get treated as one another?
A woman gets walked over just as if she was a doormat.
It’s as if they do not understand the concept;
Women are not objects that can be thrown around and disposed of to their liking.
Women get downgraded in society just because they are seen as ‘fragile’ in masculine eyes.
“It’s just because she is a woman.”
“You’ll distract the boys if you wear that.”
“How much did you have to drink that night?”
“What were you wearing that night?”
“Why are you getting so emotional?”
“It must be that time of the month.”
“Is that all you are going to eat?”
“You eat a lot for a girl.”
“Isn’t that outfit a little too revealing for you?”
“Dress up more. Boys like you to look pretty.”
They say.
Why is it that women have to worry about every step they make in their life?
Everybody is ‘equal’ no?
Why is it only the women who have to have a certain conversation with their moms?
A conversation that tells their daughters to ignore the remarks that they may receive from men.
There is a hidden inequality and Misogyny that women are always the center of.
In truth, women are just an object in the eyes of the male species.
But in reality ‘It isn’t all men’.
