Still Waters Run Deep
I find a spot near the waterfront
Only the gentle murmur of the pond to be heard
The stillness one feels
Only when someone has departed
T H E S T A T E O F
C O G I T A T E
Struggling to keep my head above the water
I am transported through a hurricane
Of suppressed emotions
Memories flooding back
Waves of anguish
Pulling me under
I do not recognize myself
In this weather

This piece is the feeling I underwent when my Grandfather passed away and it is something I to this day will still feel from time to time. The intense feelings of being able to do nothing about your emotions is something everyone feels at some point and I hope they can relate to this poem.
