Questions from a lost heart
Is it all going to work out?
Sometimes I think it will.
When I have a smile and somebody sat beside me.
Other times, I almost know it won’t.
When I have wet cheeks and empty air surrounding me.
Is it all going to work out?
My heart tells me “yes,” there is a plan laid out for me designed by the Heavens above.
But when my best friend was ripped away from me so early,
I stopped.
Maybe it won’t,
because I can’t see any scenario where that helped me.
Is it all going to work out?
My mom tells me that it will,
that I just have to wait and eventually things will fall into place.
But I wonder if maybe there’s some pieces missing from my puzzle,
lost within the cushions of the couch, accompanied by the old coins and dust bunnies.
Maybe I have to look for the pieces myself,
open my eyes.
Is it all going to work out?
I think it will.
I should find my purpose within my lifetime.
It may not be the way I intended,
but nothing really is.
Because if it doesn’t, then this was all for
Nothing.

It's scary to walk blindfolded while someone else guides you to your destination. Sometimes, you accidentally run into a tree. But that's okay.
