"It's never over, until life ends,"

A fallacy; Some things one simply can't mend

Mistakes, mistakes, they take and take

The balance of my love is at stake

I'd give it all to go back to that day,

Would've said "No," to avoid these pains

A single Rose in a field of grey, brought color, and meaning

Back into my life of dismay

A Lily floats on the riverbed, her colors silence

My thoughts, that I'd be better off dead

Now, my love flies high, in the air above my head,

Up in the sky

Exceeding limitations, preceding imitations

All "love" felt after is fake

Nothing can fill the void, that love can make

Nothing at all is worth anything

The end of Fall, the leaves are dead,

"It's never over," needn't be said

For I know they'll be resurrected

With the flowers of Spring

But every moment of every day,

Feels like that time in-between

Days grey, hope long since flown away,

All because of one simple mistake

The Rose gave the Beast a second change, after stomping her down,

With his violent prance

But why can she not do the same for me?

Is it because our love was one of meaning?

Too afraid to be hurt once again,

Yet she takes the abuse from beasts of men

Now here I lay, with tears in my eyes,

Wondering if it is me, that she does despise?

The Lily floats down stream, moves on with her life,

Chasing a dream

The lonely, empty husk of a man

Curses Fate, and her despicable plan

No longer does he look others in the face, not wanting them

To see past his facade, at his moral disgrace

Empathy, long since gone like the Lily of the river, a cold, cold heart

Without love and feeling being a danger that makes one quiver

For what has a man left, if not love?

What's to stop him with that Iron Glove?

On his heart, a fortress of infinite proportions,

"On my mark, get set. . ."

No, what's the point? She can go and move on,

But I cannot, is that wrong?

Silent, somber, seemingly sad; Not a soul dares

To disturb a man who is mad

The craze of love, madness of desire,

Shocking one out of sense, like a live-wire

I cannot change my past;

I would, if I could

"Now, it's never over, my friend,"

I've already gone past the point of "life ends"

The author's comments:

Daniel Caesar once sang in his song, "Transform," that "it's never over until life ends."

Meaning that what seems like a road-block in your life, or a trouble of great importance you must overcome cannot stop you from trying to push forward, and try again.

You have your whole life ahead of you to make new memories, and meet new people, only ending when your life does.

My life already ended.

"Chance," not change. Correction for line 25.
