Istanbul
In a warm day in Istanbul,
A cool shade is found
With the presence of
The Sultanahmet Mosque above
Then, the calming sound of the call to prayer
Carrying away my thoughts
I feel at peace
I rest in ease
I feel the gentle breeze
Walking only minutes to the bazaar
Everything changes
Noisy Crowds
Salesmen shout
People pushing you around
But then the smell
Of Freshly baked Simit
I am excited again.
Nowhere else does
A city smell like food
From Doner to Baklava
From Pide to Lahmacun
I take advantage of
Vendors giving samples
These vivid memories
Will always be my favorite
Till next time, Istanbul
