Prisoner
Open your eyes to see.
Speak in the language known to man.
 The sun never rises,
it’s only what the earth makes us believe.

I can remember when we were so tiny.
 Imagination over reality.
 I’m an ordinary girl with
 Smiling memories,
 a confused present,
 and an unforgiving future.

It all seems way too easy.
 I sit back waiting,
dreading, for it to go all wrong.
 I feel unbearably alone
but I have so many at my side.
