Family I Never Knew
Memories blur around the edges,
Running together like tears,
Becoming fact devoid of feeling.
I can't recall Christmases,
There were never any casual visits,
And the photos sent yearly
Are of children as unfamiliar as frame fillers.
My friend complains about watching her cousins,
She doesn't know what I'd give to do that for a day.
