Satin Slippers
As she dances gracefully along the floor,
I see nothing else.
The way her arms don’t cut,
but glide from side to side
is mesmerizing.
The way her feet look
and must ache,
in those satin pointe shoes.
She looked as if she were on top of the world,
like nothing could stop her.
The gleaming smile on her face
was everlasting.
Roses were thrown,
bows were given.
Encores,
clapping.
As she dances gracefully along the floor,
I see nothing else.
The way her arms don’t cut,
but glide from side to side
is mesmerizing.
