Hidden
There are so many thoughts to choose from
So many feelings to sort through
Do we ever really figure ourselves out?
 Maybe you tell yourself
That your life is under control
 Maybe not thinking about it
Is the only way to make it throught the day
 Or maybe
 It's just easier to forget

Now what if those walls crumbled
 The barriers destroyed
 And those thoughts
 Those feelings
 Came back to you
 Flooding your mind

Have you taught yourself how to swim
Or would you be carried away by the current
 And drown in your thoughts
 Your emotions
 Everything you tried to hide
 But in the end failed
Faltered behind that well crafted mask

 But in the end
 Don't we all?
 How can we truly think
 That something so real
 So true
 Can be hidden forever?

 Eventually
 Those walls will crumble
 The barriers will be destroyed
 And the flood will come
Have you taught yourself how to swim?

Love is not a feeling; it is a gift, an act, an ultimate sacrifice. -Me (Em)
This is deep! It reminds me of a friend I'm worried about... Especially the part about not being able to hold back anymore, the walls breaking down, the flood.
I'd love to have feedback from someone who writes as well as you do. If you get a chance, please take a look at my poetry!
