Never Be Replaced
I am from ice fishing
From apple juice and cocoa pebbles
I am from the grandfather clock
(brown, shiny and loud.)
I am from the rose
The morning glory
Whose vines wrap around our porch.
I’m from pretzel salad and hazel eyes.
From Stephanie and Lyle
I’m from Christmas mornings and
Thanksgiving dinner.
From “treat others the way you want to be treated”
And “never give up”.
I’m from Ogdensburg, New York and
Margret and Louise
From finding sea shells in Old Orchard Beach
With my family.
The Sunday night football with my dad.
I am from those pictures
That will never be replaced.
