Our Field
We walk through the fields,
with the yellow sun shining
and the little ants mining
their holes beneath our bare feet,
that are blistered from the constant beat
of our footsteps
through the fields.
We climb the trees
and watch the endless blue sky,
as the cotton ball clouds pass us by,
and the wind blows through our hair,
blowing away our fear and our care.
We dream of floating away
on the rivers flowing through our open minds,
and on to another time,
where we can forget all this sorrow
and keep dreaming for tomorrow.
