Letter to Heaven
I hear you are in a better place,
I guess it must be true,
But I still miss seeing your loving face,
It’s no longer in view.
I was told that your soul is free,
And that you are no longer in pain,
That you still watch over me,
But nothing is still the same.
I miss you so much,
And I hope you miss me too,
Because the warmth of your gentle touch,
Was taken along with you.
I miss the spark in your eyes,
And the radiance of your smile,
They say those are things that will never die,
But I would like to see those once in a while.
This letter is going on pretty far,
But there is so much I need to say,
Just know that where ever you are,
That I think of you every day,
And promise me this,
That when my soul begins to roam,
And when I feel the touch of an angel’s kiss,
That you’ll waiting for me, the day I come home.
