Candle Light
A single flame burns I the night.
Never flickering, never wavering.
This one flame burned so bright
that it could not be looked at with bare eyes.
In the worst of storms,
and in the darkest of nights,
this one flame steadily glowed.
Burning and burning,
but never going out
waiting for someone
to stand in its light.
But for what seemed like centuries
not a soul passed by.
So the flame burned on,
all alone in a big and empty room.
Then one day,
the flame grew dull,
and in a dancing flury,
flickered about.
Finally when it could take no more
the flame went out.
