Chrysalis
In my heart, I know you’re right
Things can not work out
I had hoped, I had dreamed
But it seems that wasn’t enough
You shy away from my touch
Maybe I shouldn’t have told you
My feelings won’t change
Only morph into something stronger
Every time I see you
Tears form and a lump fills my throat
But I know, it just can’t be
We were together for so long but then
Things began to fall a part
I’ve tried fixing this mess
It keeps on ripping at the seems
What we had must have merely been
A copy cut version of true love
Is there anything else I can do?
I don’t want this to end
I’m afraid to let you go
But I know I must
My feelings won’t change
Only morph into something stronger
Ever time I see you
Tears form and a lump fills my throat
But I know it just can’t be
Where do I go from here?
You have been my life for so long
