Can I be a human too?
Fluttery around your smile like a bird
Burnt to flames inside your mouth
An ivory door, mostly dark and cold
With drops of rain such mortal
You must be human

Let you in, no sight to see,
I feel a dead rope, not some maker and kin
Though I’m only such stuffing
And cordoroy buttons
Can I be human?

Though I’m only such stuffing
Can I be human too?
To be stepped on and spat
Eyelevel of a rat
And it digs my grave again
Sour and slit
stripped of mortal wit

I’m no human

Thank you. Sorry I never replied. I suppose I focus more on writing the actual piece than replying to the feedback on it. :P Silly me. I'm so glad you liked it.

I agree. Humanity is indeed complex.

I loved this, though I found it to be quite sad. You have a wonderful talent with words.

Ah, how humanity is so complex!
