Respond
When the big old tree in our backyard
(The one dad would look at
 And say
 “I’ll cut it down
 One of these days”) fell,
It landed on Spot. That night,
Mom sat me down, and cried, and
 Told me everything dies,
But she was wrong because that night
 I dreamt he was alive.
