The police swore to protect the gambler's law

A square on the calendar was designated
Every Dog's Day

Irony and Karma were names
for the same
fair and arbitrary God

And we all lived life
Right out of a Jakov Smirnoff joke
The punching bags grew fists
Your cigarette butts came back to burn you
Porn stars all had X-Ray vision
Your beat up mailbox went postal
A frog disected you
And a mink looked damn good in your skin?

People always tell me life isn't fair. I think they're just scared to try and make it fair. What if life was fair?
