What lurks beyond
The light of day
In the depths of night
Mysteries beyond imagination
As the candle lights flicker and die
As the street lamps turn on
We’re oblivious
To the differences made
We walk into the darkness
Never realizing that we are always there
Because the darkness is the unknown
Something that we all face
It’s just the life that we all lead
Each day differing from the last
And we never know
What tomorrow holds
Darkness is great
And a mystery
And nobody is ever going to know
What lurks beyond
The light of day
