Strength is clear
It sounds like a room full of silent warriors with wise eyes
It smells like salty sweat dripping from an athlete’s body
It tastes like crisp, replenishing water on a scorching, hot day.
Strength feels like looking into a mirror and seeing your best qualities staring back at you.

The author's comments:
This poem was an assignment given to me by my English teacher this year. Our unit in poetry we were studying really inspired me to write my own poems. I hope teens will read my work and be inspired to be the best versions of themselves that they can. This means having the strength to live by your own standards and not let anybody put them down.

thank you! I really wanted a strong sense of imagery in this poem. I'm so glad you felt that! :)

i really like this poem. u can hear the quietness, feel the heat, and totally relate with the mirror. alot of girls and some guys dont really have a definition for strength. you've created the best by far. love it!!
