love me hate me either way you think about me. _becca

As I walk the halls, I feel you.
Your penetrating stares seem to go right through me.
You know what I am, yet you don’t stay away, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why.
Why don’t you run and hide like everyone else?
Why don’t you keep your distance?
Is this out of bravery or curiosity?
And if it is then I must warn you now, run.
Run because curiosity kills and so do I.
I am neither naive nor merciful when awoken.
And with every approaching step that you take, the beast inside me stirs.
It takes all of my strength to run away from you.
The beast is drawn to you like a moth to a flame, and it becomes angry when I pull it away.
The beast is not a forgiving creature.
It burns within me like a slow moving poison, breaking my will and draining my strength.
Slowly it works inside of me, blocking every rational thought from passing through, it strips me of my humanity.
And again I tell you to run, the beast within me will not be denied, and as I become more like it, neither will I.
