I miss you, my dear.
Though I have just left, I miss you.
I miss the way you say my name,
and the hours of nothingness we spend

Together.

I miss the way my head fits perfectly
in that little space between your brains and brawn.
My fingers look so lonely without yours;
I think they miss you too.

Even the annoying strands of loose hair,
that beat against our faces in the dancing wind;
they miss you too.

My legs, those cruel twigs that took me away from you;
They are too stubborn to admit they miss you.
But they do.

I miss you, my dear.
Though I have just left, I am dreaming of ways to come back.
To come back to your smile,
to come back to your heart,
to come back to your world.

This poem hit me really hard in the heart. I am going over-seas for two weeks and my boyfriend is staying behind. This poem describes my exact thoughts about leaving him.
