Questions
I asked my older sister
If maybe i could fly
and she told me the sky is your limit
all you have to do is try
Then when i was older
i asked her how to dance
she explained to me
the simple baby steps
to take to tango just like she
As i entered teenage hood nervous as can be,
i asked her how to put on make-up,
to make me feel pretty.
She smiled and laughed
as she painted my face
and helped to dress me up
"give it time and before you know you'll be all grown-up"
I called her up the other day,
after a very long time,
and i asked her how college had been at her University
then asked if i could ask another silly question
she said 'shoot' so asked her
'As i enter high-school, how do i make new friends?’
I could hear how tired that she was, but still i heard a smile,
'just talk to them and be yourself, you hardly have to try.
If you ever need my help again,
know that i'm still here,
apart for now i know we are
but come and visit me.'
And i'm glad she watched me grow up,
and that we shared our lives
. 'Cuz now i know what i'm doing,
as i make my way through life.
