Raindrops scatter,
Across the land.
Pitter,

Patter,

Clatter.
Crystal gems in liquid form.

Touch one,
Taste one,
Feel the ancient age.

And if I could but speak to one,
And ask it what its seen,
What tales would it reveal to me?
What stories would I hear?

The author's comments:
It was raining. I was in the library. This poem was inevitable.
