Friday Night Radio
Another Friday night
when all the kids like me
we all jammed out
to that same station.
The emo's the crazies, the slackers, the stalkers we all turned on that radio.
That station
that played those electronic beats
and a little screamo
in between
and we all just marveled
at the beautiful vocals
and we fell asleep on the floor some nights
even though we wanted no shut eye
we just wanted to know
that someone understood.
and the radio DJ he seemed to play
the songs with lyrics that made us feel
not so alone
each beat in the perfect tone
we sat there
and for once we smiled.
We actually grinned
cuz that Friday night radio
made made our lives feel like a win.
