Memories
Sometimes I think about the future and how it’s going to be
But I’ll never forget the memories that became a part of me
Take a moment out of your tiring and hectic life
Look back to the times when you felt so alive
Sit back, close your eyes and relax your brain
Let’s take a trip down memory lane
Think back to your childhood, when you weren’t afraid to be you
You could just walk up to anyone and be friends with someone new
The days at the playground, laughing and having fun
Shooting down the slides and lying in the sun
The first time you took the training wheels off your new bike
You had no idea what that would feel like
Think about the time you met your first crush
The first time you felt that incredible rush
That time you held hands, walking in the park
Looking into each other’s eyes, feeling that spark
Remember the very first time you were kissed
You were so nervous, you almost missed
Think about middle school, that very awkward stage
More work, new braces and growing as you age
Think about the first time you were betrayed by a friend
Someone you thought you could trust, it truly felt like the end
How about freshman year, a new, fresh start
The time when all the cliques grow apart
As high school went on you changed and branched out
You were so naive to what life was really about
Think about the first time you drove a car
With all that freedom you just wanted to go so far
Think about you first day at college, when you were so scared
You weren’t sure if you were prepared
Think about the first time you fell in love
It felt as they were sent from the heavens above
Or the very first time someone broke your heart
If felt like your world was falling apart
Memories should be cherished, the good and the bad
You grow from every one of them, even the sad
So when you’re all out of energy, so old and gray
You should take time to reminisce, smile and say
My life was full of good and bad
Many times I was happy and sad
But in the end, it was a life well lived, you see
Because I’ll always have my memories with me…
