Favorite Quote:
"When I was young, my mom told me that happiness was the key to life. At school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I was old. I said 'happy'.They told me I didn't understand the project, and I told them they didn't understand life." -John Lennon

This afternoon, at the hairdresser's,
With the roar of the dryer in my ear,
I watched a slightly out-of-focus dump truck drive past,
And I felt like a child again.

My feet had slipped off the rests,
Reminding me of being short
And not being able to touch the ground with my toes
When I sat down.
I was sitting at breakfast before school,
And my mother was reminding me to walk home with Ali.
Like I'd ever forget to go to my best friend's, I thought.

A piece of hair tickled my lip,
And I re-entered the present,
Although I kept my feet dangling.
It felt good.
