Beauty
What makes a person beautiful?
What makes you beautiful to me?
Is it the way you tuck hair behind your ear?
Or is it the way your smile can calm the maddest of seas?
Is beauty in the words that you speak to me
Unknowing that every syllable, and every vowel
Can cure a hatred in my heart that no man can shake?
Is beauty in your eyes?
Is it in your laugh?
Does beauty pulsate throughout the universe
With each of your heartbeats?
No.
And yes.
Beauty is neither all nor none of those.
True beauty is, to me
Looking at you everyday, and knowing,
That I love you.
