New kid

I am the new kid. I am the one who is alone in these tiled hallways, even though people surround me like a school of fish. I am a Jack-O-lantern; taking time to carefully scoop out my true thoughts and feelings with a spoon, and carve my face with a make-up mask that i can hide behind. I am a scluptor, carving unknown faces to form my old life, my old friends. I am a sponge, taking in the whispers and sneers and letting them radiate inside me, echoing the cruel words thrown at me like daggers. I am the new kid. I am alone.
