We have settled.
We’ve lost our will,
Our words and our thoughts.
We’ve forgotten our ambition;
Can’t remember what we are.
A cry is quieted
By a haunting glance.
A laugh is lost
In the echoing silence.
Sit quietly and stare straight ahead:
This world is no place for emotion.
And this life is no place
For imagination.
