It’s been a while

And I’m beginning to miss

The gorgeous face

That everyday I would kiss.


When we walk in the hallway

I want to hold his hand

But I tell my head I can’t

And tell my heart to understand.


Love is my weakness.

It’s what keeps me alive.

But pain and suffering

Make it hard to survive.


I want to tell him

That I miss him so much.

I want to have him in my arms.

I miss his gentle touch.


He made me so upset

I’m incapable of crying.

I want to be with him again,

But I can’t take his compulsive lying.


I’ve given redemption

Too many times.

I’m a poet who has wasted

All of her rhymes.
