Pebble Beach
grey clouds with tinges of blue
the horizon meets grey-blue waters
led by muddled shades of green and brown
short hewn grass leads to the beach
guided by the worn wood fence
endless and weather-beaten
the posts whipped by ceaseless wind
they lean up against rugged green shrubs
gnarled bushes sprinkled with salt
their wild untamed twigs crawl
reach for the ground, the sky, the sea
beyond them the ocean endlessly churns
waves crash against smooth black rock
where all is in turmoil, all is at peace
an angle, a fencepost, the sea
is the earth at its best.
