Missing You
I can see the sky
 It is blue and bright
 I can see your eyes
 They are blue and bright

 Then time slips away
 And it's night
 The stars come out
And shine down on the lawn

 We all know that everyone
 Looks best in moonlight
So we skip outside as the moon shines
Any one looking sees laughing silhouettes

As we lie down on the grass
We talk and wish the sun doesn't come
Because we want to count the stars
Each one dedicated to someone we owe

But our wish upon that one shooting star
Doesn't come true, the sun comes out
And your family comes to take you away
And laughs turn to cries in a minute

The summer wind seems to blow you away
A person, to a car, to a speck, to nothing
And years later, I see you again
We've changed, gotten older, but we still wish
