The End
Glaring memories dance beneath bruised eyelids,
hospital bed colder than death,
uncomfortable sheets smooth as sandpaper.
Mother, father, sister, brother,
vanished, lost.
Accidents cannot be undone,
nor lives given back to cadavers.
Guilt sinks in as hope scurries away,
the end is near.
No longer resisting,
finished existing.
Shadows hover,
cover,
gone.
