A Journey, A Virtue
We quit being friends when you left me alone
To battle my battles and fight on my own
When I looked around and found no one beside me
No voice, no advice, no words to guide me

You opened my eyes, helped me blow off my steam
But things are never as they seem
Nothing works out or goes as planned
You are now gone in a far away land

You didn't say goodbye, didn't let me know
Just woke up one morning and you didn't show
I'll be okay here, but not like before
You would be here when the teardrops would pour

Now they keep falling and come more and more
And I'm just left here, feeling sore
Sore at the world, sore at you
I thought you would be here, I thought you'd be true

But I can't be mad and I cannot blame you
 Life is a journey
 And independence, a virtue
