Young Loss
Years have passed since you have gone
Yet I stay strong and don’t forget,
Who I am and why I’m here.
I keep my sister safe and well.
Grammy is here so it’s okay.
I have her guidance and help,
Or so I thought.
Feeble as she was,
Her strength was shown.
Until her final hour aroused her.
I stood by her and held her hand,
As she slowly slipped away from us.
A stray tear fell softly through the air.
As the thought shot through my mind,
I have lost another one.
First my mommy now my grammy.
I am left alone in this cruel, cruel world.
