What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

Dream like you will live forever, live like you will die today.

Maybe I don’t
want
this poem to be clear.
Maybe
I don’t feel like you
looking into my mind.
Maybe I’d rather not have
my words
be windows.
Maybe
there’s a reason
I avoid clarification.
Maybe
I choose to differ
from what is expected.
Maybe I don’t feel
like obeying your rules
your ideas of what makes poetry.
Maybe what I’d really love
is to drop this pen
and run.
Maybe I don’t
want this poem
to make sense.
Maybe I just
can’t understand
why it has to.

The author's comments:
Got irritated by everyone trying to 'read into' poetry, trying to find hidden meanings.

This poem is nothing more than what it seems like, so don't try to wring anything else of it.

Honestly.

Love it! sometimes people try to see too deeply into a poem, and get lost in fantasies of what they think it means. Have you ever heard the idiom " can't see the forest for the trees "? It means that someome paid too close attention to the smaller details, and lost sight of the main point. I suppose that is what applies to how people often read poetry, they look too deep and end up losing sight of what the poet really means.
