Take a bowl of popcorn, slick and buttery.
Add in a drop of the tears we’ve shared,
From sorrow, when Linda died,
To laughter, when we couldn’t breath and were sore
From rolling around.
Pick a rose for love-
Keep the thorns,
For spats.
Toss in cinnamon, for adventures,
Like when we built the stage.
Grind a bulb of pride for your
Beaming smile, when I win something,
Or when I fail, yet learn.
Mix with the spike of courage you possess, the one I envy.
Then, we’ll gobble it up,
Stuffing our mouths like we do
Each day after school.
Just like always.

Again, so good. I love your poetry, because that's one area that drives me crazy when I write, but you do it perfectly.
