I am lying in my bed,
Listening to the crickets chirp.
A sudden breeze enters
Through an open window.
I feel its chill.
The wind whispers sweet lullabies
Softly and calmly.
I hear the rain,
And get up quickly
To shut the open window.
I lie on my bed,
And slowly begin to fall asleep,
Hoping for the rain to stop,
Hoping for morning to come.

The slow stillness of night was a true inspiration for this poem. I love how the night is so soft, and melodic.
